Original Works

This Appearance (Solo)

As each second flows by, there is an urge to move and express the transient nature of time. The body becomes a vessel for this expression as this dance becomes a personal response to acknowledge the fleeting moments of existence. Through movement, the impermanence of life is embraced and the preciousness of each passing moment is celebrated.

This work is performed at Kaleidoscope IV by Sigma Dance Collective, Cont.act Open Stage 2023 and New Dance For Asia Daegu 2024

The Birthday

“It reminds us that every birthday is both an ending and a beginning”. The Birthday is the debut piece by Tinydancer Productions. Staged independently it explores the significance of birthdays, not just as celebratory milestones but as reflective turning points in life.
Blending personal experiences with universal themes, the production delves into the emotions surrounding aging, nostalgia, and our complex relationship with time. Through interwoven vignettes, one reflects on memories of past birthdays, missed opportunities, and future aspirations, confronting the inevitability of change.

On The Other Side

On The Other Side is a graduation piece created for the 2024 graduating cohort of the School of the Arts, Singapore. Drawing inspiration from the question, "What lies beyond?", the piece delves into themes of discovery, transformation, and the unknown.

In a realm where grass appears greener, we are often drawn to the belief in better worlds beyond our reach. Yet as we journey separately in pursuit of new experiences, there remains a hope that the moon's guidance can remind us of our interconnectedness. Beneath its gentle glow we share a bond, our hearts resonating with unity and togetherness.

This Appearance (Group)

Form is empty, emptiness is form.

When we pay attention, we realise that everything that arises will inevitably pass away.

If we experience carefully the transition of a moment, we begin to notice the very nature of its occurrence. The more we notice and reflect, the more beautiful reality can be for us. Choreographed for The Human Expression Second Company, LITHE 2020 in #THEGOESONLINE.

Desert of the Ocean (Doldrums) (SAM x Access Path Productions)

Performer Grace Lee-Khoo, musician Wheelsmith, dancer Nah Jieying and puppeteer Regina Foo invite audiences to participate and explore their inner journeys where ever-changing terrains and scenery can hold, hurt and heal us. In particular, the performers – inspired by the exhibition - reflect on their artistic processes which navigate through the slippery, uncharted realm of disability arts.

Inspired by the spaces characterised by liminality and stillness in Charles Lim Yi Yong and Simryn Gill’s The Sea is a Field, desert of the ocean (doldrums) is an accessible 45-min live performance, which features elements of spoken word, live soundscapes, contemporary dance and shadow play.
